This morning I have been going thru my patterns getting ready for my stitching groups annual road trip to Tulsa and The Silver Needle. My oldest daughter and I will be leaving Friday morning, a day later than everyone else. She and I didn't want to take more than one day off work.
I certainly don't need anything but as they say "Need has nothing to do with it"
I am trying to plan a few more projects ahead to see if I need to pick up some speciality threads, fabric, buttons etc. I have a ton of neutral fabrics, but just a few colored.
I kitted up A Quaker Christmas Sampler this week, changing the colors to a DMC green, red and gold. I don't have them right here with me so I'm not sure the numbers. I am going to stitch this on 32ct Sand Edinbough....I probably spelled it wrong but that's ok, you know what it says. Anyway, I'm going to stitch it over 1 thread. I love the look of over one.
My oldest daughter Angie is an avid stitcher too. So she will be adding to her stash too. My youngest daughter Sabrina tried cross stitch but it's not her thing. She'd rather be out doing some boyish thing with her husband and son. That's OK too.
I have done a little stitching this week on It's Be Cold ornament. Which it is cold.
Wednesday it was in the upper 60's and today it's in the low 30's and expecting snow. That's Missouri for ya!
Since this is the end of Feb. I am gathering up all my snowmen and putting them away. Next it will be getting out Spring and Easter decoratings. The couple of days this week it was nice really made me eager for spring.
The nascar race is on at 3:30 so I will stitch and watch it this afternoon. Steve is sleeping because he works tonight so I am just puttering around trying to accomplish something.
That's it for now.

Reorganizing feels good!

Steve got the new shelf put up in the closet of my sewing room last night. And tonight he helped me for a while handing me things as I decided where I was putting them. My patterns were easy. They went on the 2 shelves. Then it was time to jockey rubbermaid containers around to where they fit best. Then labeling them with my P-Touch labeler. I love my labeler! Everything looks so nice all rowed up and labeled.
I will need to buy another container for my soap molds and supplies. I also still have things I haven't put away yet. Still trying to figure out the best place for them.
Last night I stitched on Lacey Pinks, but was getting tired of it, so I decided to rotate tonight. It's back to the top of my rotation list. Lighthouse Sampler. Block #3. I've tried the rotation system before but it never worked for me because sometimes when it was time to rotate I was really getting into a project. So I decided not to set a time limit on the rotations. I"m keeping the rotation in order but stitching as much or as little as I feel like it.

Time to get back to stitching.

Happy Valentines Day

Hope everyone has a nice Valentines. Steve had to work last night and tonight so our Valentines will be at a later date. Probably a dinner out. He did stop on the way home this morning and picked me up some chocolate covered strawberries. They are sooo good.
I spent the day trying to get some reorganizing in my sewing room. I'm at a stand still until Steve puts in a new shelf in the closet for me to put my plastic magazine holders on. I keep all my cross stitch patterns in them alphabetically by designer. I have way to much unfinished things that I need to work on. But I have to get some order so I can get to everything easier. I've had things pretty organized but as I've took more things in the room to use, I have just set it in there thinking I'd put it away later. And now I have to get this done. My trouble is I try to organize stuff and then I find I don't like the way I did it, and have to reorganize it again. I don't make much headway like this.
I did stitch on Lacey Pinks today while watching the race. I got our laundry done and fixed BBQ ribs in the oven along with making a pasta salad. So I feel like I did pretty good.
Here are a couple of pictures of what I've been stitching on while my computer was down.
I was stitching on N is for Nest and really was coming along fast. But then I decided to start Lacey Pinks by Debbie Draper Designs. It is going really fast. I wasn't sure about the color of the floss at first but the more I've stitched on it, the more I like it. I think it made a big difference to have it on pink fabric.

Here's a couple of new puppy pics. Emmie is growing and changing so fast. This red sweater covered her rear when we first got her.

And here she is playing in her toy basket.

I'm finally back online

After about 3 weeks with no internet, I'm finally back online. I barely got my blog started and was trying to post every couple of days when the internet quit and after a couple of days the phones went bad. We could receive calls but couldn't hear anything but static. My husband ran new lines in the house, and still no phone or internet. Then the phone company came out and ran new line from pole to the house. Phones are now good to go, and they said the internet should be too. NOPE!! We had been thinking of changing companys for our internet anyway, so now was the time. My husband called, got it ordered, now we're just waiting for the modem to come. After 10 days and nothing, he calls them back and the lady he talked to forgot to submit the order. They overnight the modem which did a lot of good because I tried to hook it up, and guess what.....no internet. Waited until the next day and nothing.
And the day after that, my husband called again. They just got it turned on. OK,now we're going to try this again. After, doing everything I could possibly do, I got PO'ed and told my husband he was going to have to deal with it. Or else I was going to shoot someone or something. This is on a Sat. so he calls the company. Now, I spent 2 1/2 hrs on the phone back in Oct trying to get a problem with the internet straighten out and I knew I needed to time his call. He clocked in with a time of 2 hrs and 55 min. And still no internet!!!!!Well, not completely. We have it on the home computer, but no laptop. They think we have a bad wireless router so they advised calling that company since it was a fairly new router. This time, he get someone who you can't understand so he hands off to me. Great!! I can't wait. I couldn't understand him either. And after 45 min. and you guessed it. Still no laptop. Now their idea was to call Dell and have them tell me how to change some settings on my laptop. I call them, we go thru them getting all this info and they need to get a 3rd party in on it and there will be a charge of 69.99 for a one time service. Now our neighbor is an IT wiz but he's out of town for the weekend. So I decided to wait and ask him to take a look at it.
Can you believe he came over and in less then 5 mins had everything up and running and even changed our new emails to make it easier to go.
Why do these companies have these support people when they can't trouble shoot anything. Just makes me furious that you can't call and have someone figure out what's wrong without losing half the weekend and your mind too.

Now I have to get caught up from the last 3 weeks.

I have been stitching alot. I plan on getting new pics posted this weekend. I have been rotating projects and have had fun getting new things started. I'm currently stitching on Lacy Pinks, by Debbie Draper Designs. It came with the over dyed floss but I didn't have a soft pink fabric for it, so I did a little playing around with dying. I came up with a really pretty pink using Beet Juice. I hope when I get a picture of it,it shows up nice.

This is all for tonight, will try to get back to posting every couple of days but got to get my stitching fix for tonight.

No Time To Stitch Tonight

I've just a few minutes to do some posting,I've got to get some work done around the house tonight but I really wanted to get some pics of the (girls) on my blog. Here is Sage, the dalmation, she's 6 and is so smart it's scary. Molly is the pom that's all fur, and Emmie is the new pom not quite 6 months old yet, so she still has some growing to do and hasn't got her full coat yet. Their all spoiled rotten. But we wouldn't have it anyother way.
I did knit on Steve's sock for a whilelast night. I can't knit for too long at a time, it just gets my hands but I still enjoy it. Also stitched on PS N is for Nest. I'll try to get a pic on here in the Friday or Saturday.

What a night!!!

Tonight I decided to start N is for Nest from the Prairie Schooler alphabet series. I have all of them done to that point. After dinner I thought I'd start a sock for my husband and work on it for an hour or so before starting the PS. Well, our new pom thought differently.
She is not quite 6 months old and was WIRED FOR SOUND tonight. Not quite sure what she was on but I don't think that kind of energy comes naturally. She was either trying to get into stuff or was terrorizing the other dogs. In an hour and a half I managed to cast on 64 st of the sock. I finally gave up until she crashed for a nap and then got the PS project started. I didn't get enough of it done to make it worth a photo.
Maybe tomorrow will go better.

Ornament Weekend

This was a movie and stitching weekend. We never go to the movies, because I don't like to set for 2 hours without something else to do. We decided to rent 3 movies and veg-out this weekend. I think the cold, gloomy weather probably has something to do with it too. I stopped on the It's Be Cold ornament and started the Christmas House Friday night which will also be made into an ornament. I think it's coming along very nicely. Every year I say I'm going to make some ornaments for the next year and all I ever get done are the 2 I have to do to give away. I also cut the fabric for Quaker Christmas Sampler today. I'm changing the floss to DMC. A dark Christmas green, red and gold. The fabric is 36ct. Sand linen. Here's the 2 projects I've been working on this last week. I can't decide if I want to continue on these 2 pieces since they are going so quickly or if I want to start something else for this week. I guess I'll decide tomorrow.
