Happy New Year!
I have spent this entire day stitching and knitting. I stitch mostly in the evenings but since I've been off work last week and this week I've gotten some done off and on each day. I've been working around the house while I've been off but today I just didn't feel like it. I needed one of what I call "A Lazy Day"
My husband works nights, and he had to work tonight so he set and played online pocker while I set and stitched. After he left I was back in my chair and stitched all evening too. Except for the time I spend reading some blogs.
I'm now about 3/4 finished with the socks I'm knitting. I'd like to get them done so I can start a pair for my husband. Today I stitched on The Lighthouse Sampler from By the Bay. I finished the 2nd block on it last night and started the 3rd one today. I also have been stitching on The Call of the Ocean today. I'm almost done with it.
I just need to finish the border on the bottom. Tomorrow I want to pull together some small kits to work on this next year.

It's about an hour until midnight here in Missouri so I will probably stay up for a while and get back to stitching. I hope the new year is good to all of you.

December 30 2008

I had some time today to update my photos on webshots so I wanted to also get my works in progress posted here too.
I'm currently stitching on the Lighthouse Sampler when we are in the basement watching tv, I have the Fall Gifts upstairs and I stitch on it there. That way I don't have to carry something back and forth. The other WIPS just float around depending on if I feel like stitching on one of them.

Here are a few of my finished pieces. Since I've been stitching for about 30 yrs, I have so many to choose from to post. I thought since it's the Christmas season, I'd show you some of them. I made the little reindeer ornament for my grandson this year. I have made him one each year since he was born. This is his 5th ornament.

Altengamme

This is called Altengamme. I finished it earlier this year. The original design called for black and red but I changed the colors to a dark green, navy and very dark gray verigated, and an burnt orange. The photo still makes it look red and black.

I am off work all this week due to our holiday shutdown so I'm hoping to get some quality time stitching. Along with trying to finish knitting my 1st pair of socks. I have 1 done and the other one is about 1/2 way. They don't look to bad considering it's my 1st pair.

I had a chance to look about the designer of project 5 and 6 that I couldn't think of last night. Project #5 is Summer Blue from Derfeine Faden. I'm stitching it on 28ct Jobelan that I tea dyed myself. I'm also stitching it over 1 thread with a Needle Necessities floss.
Project #6 is Jardin D'Jour from Needlemania. I'm stitching it on a light green with Needle Necessities also but over 2 threads. I love to stitch samplers with the verigated threads. They look so pretty when they finished.

I am going to try to get some time to post some photos of my finished pieces. I see so many really nice blogs with lots of photos and hope I can do the same in time.

Sunday, December 28th

This will be my first posting. I don't really know much about blogging and will have to learn more.

I am currently stitching on Lighthouse Sampler by By The Bay Needleart. I have 1 of the 9 squares finished and am about half way done on the second square. I am stitching it on 28ct Saphire Joblean over 1 thread using DMC floss.

Project #2 is Fall Gifts by Carriage House Samplings. I have this piece about 3/4 finished. I'm stitching it on 32ct Belfast linen using DMC floss. I am hoping to finish this soon.

Project #3 is Houses of Hawk Run Hollow by Carriage House Samplings. I have 5 houses finished and am working on house 6 but haven't worked on it for a couple of months because I loaned out my lap stand I had it on, to a friend. She wanted to try a lapstand to see if she liked it before investing in one.

Project #4 is Call of the Ocean by X-Apeal.

Project #5 is a spot sampler that I can't think of the designer by will have to look later. I am stitching this piece on 28ct over one thread with a Needle Necessities floss. I only stitch on this when my weekly stitching group meets.

Project #6 is another sampler that I can't think of that designer either but am stitching it on a light green Jobelan with another Needle Necessities floss.
