Three days until Christmas, can you believe it. I'm all ready except I still need to brave Wally World for stocking stuffers. I love Christmas, love looking are all the blogs and how everyone has their homes decorated. But to be honest, I'll be glad when it's over so I can get things back to normal. I have the week between Christmas and New Years off work again this year so I plan to catch some of the after Christmas sales on Monday then I'll just play it by ear for the rest of the week. I'd really like to spend it at home getting the house cleaned up and everything put away. Plus I really want to get some stitching and quilting in before going back to work on the 2nd.
See this picture? This is the Christmas tree I have in my kitchen. I have all my counted cross stitch ornaments on it. Some I have made, some were given to me by friends in my stitching group.
Look closely and you will see a few cross stitched mittens and some minature knitted gloves.
Now look at this close up. See the black glove?

That is not an ornament!
See this black glove with the red band on the limb?
That is not an ornament either!

I was walking thru the kitchen the other day and noticed these on my tree. These are Austins gloves that he wears.....or apparently uses as Christmas ornaments. I guess he thought they were suppose to be on the tree with the rest of the mittens and gloves.
He does the funniest things and never says anything about them. Last Christmas after he was here one day Steve and I were going downstairs to watch TV and Austin had added plastic trees and rocks that came with some dinosaurs I bought him to my nativity. I wish I had taken a picture of it but I didn't think of it.
Angie and Sabrina came in this past Sunday and we baked all day. We have alot of fun getting together and doing it. We made lots of cookies for all of us to have and also for Austin to take to school for his party.

Now I have BIG NEWS!
We are expecting the pitter pat of little feet in the Gentry household. The pitter pat of several feet!
Yes, my little princess is expecting. After several trys, I finally got the proud couple to pose for this quick picture tonight.  Emmie's not too excited about it but boy doesn't Tanner look like the proud papa to be?

This was an unplanned pregnancy. And even with Emmie wearing her little protective panties, Tanner was very determined and successful with his quest.
Emmie  weighs just 4 lbs and as you can see Tanner is bigger than her so I hope she doesn't have any problems. We will be watching her closely. Dec. 31st is day 60. Since we have absolutely no experience in puppy birthing, I have read up online and dogs usually give birth in 63 days. Poms 60 - 65 days. So we may be having New Year babies or shortly there after. I'm hoping for only 1 or 2 because anyone that knows me very well knows those puppies aren't going anywhere. This weekend we are going to get Emmies little nest ready and hopefully we will be home when it happens.
I don't really have much else to share so until next time, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.

Hello, yes it's me. I've been away for a good while. No I haven't been traveling, just been away from blogging. I've been stopping by and reading on alot of quilting and stitching blogs but just haven't really took the time to post. And since I haven't posted for so long, Blogger has change their whole look again. I hate it when things change. I sort of stubbled thru making changes to the look of my blog before. Now I have to figure out a whole new way. All I wanted to do was change my background. And I think I've spent more time figuring out how to do it then it will take me to write this post.
Last time I posted was in August. It was hot and humid. Today it's cold and chance of an inch of snow. I sure hope this winter is not as bad as last year.
I'm still cross stitching and quilting. I took a beginner quilting class at Apple Tree Quilting in Sept. It ran 3 hours 1 night a week for 6 weeks.  I have been trying to teach myself but I know you can always learn something from a class. I had a really good time and learned what I am doing right and wrong. There were 5 of us in the class so a nice size for some individual attention. We had a choice of making a table runner, lap quilt or table topper. I chose the table runner. Since I really enjoy the look of the 30's vintage fabrics I decided to use blue, yellow and red. What do you think? We all used the same pattern, Jacob's Ladder.

I think I did a pretty good job. My corners and seams came together nicely. I learned how to do mitered corners on the binding that were so easy. We machine quilted it using the stitch in the ditch method. I really want to make another one using some seasonal fabrics. Maybe something patriotic. I've finished one more house on Houses of Hawk Run Hollow but I don't have a picture of it yet. I put it away until after Christmas but taking a pic. I made Austin his annual Christmas ornament from Grammy. Here he is when I gave it to him on Thanksgiving.

Austin thought the saying was so funny. "When you stop believing, you get socks and underwear!"
( I just noticed he still has marker on his face, he drew eyebrows and a mustach on his self with washable marker earlier in the day and we made him wash it off before I took the picture.) BOYS!
In Oct. the week before deer season opens, there was youth weekend for deer hunting. Sabrina and Brian took Austin out for his 1st time hunting and look how he did.

He was so excited. And yes he shot it his self. Doesn't look very proud does he?
Now I'm the type that would be out there yelling to the deer "Run for you life!" but I am happy for him.

And lastly before I go, I have a picture of one of the squirrels we feed. He must be hogging all the food from the look of that backside.
Until next time, and hopefully it won't be in 4 months.
